What Can Be Notarized Remotely?

Most standard documents that can be notarized in person can also be notarized remotely, including:

  • Powers of Attorney

  • Affidavits

  • Business Agreements

  • Real Estate Documents

  • Consent Forms

  • Loan and Financial Documents

  • Many Other Standard Documents

Some document types, such as certain wills, codicils, or documents with specific state witnessing requirements, may not be eligible for remote notarization. We'll confirm eligibility before your appointment.

Need This for International Use?

If your document needs to be used outside the United States, check apostille eligibility before booking.

Not all remotely notarized documents can be apostilled. This depends on which state's notary performs the notarization, not on where you live. Visit our Apostille Services page to confirm your document qualifies before scheduling a remote notarization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is remote online notarization legally valid?

Yes. Remote online notarization is legally recognized in most states, and most states also recognize valid RON sessions performed by out-of-state notaries, meaning you can typically use this service regardless of where you're located, including states that don't yet permit RON for their own notaries.

Do I need any special software?

No special software is required, just a device with a camera, microphone, and stable internet connection.

What do I need for my appointment?

A valid, government-issued photo ID and the document(s) you need notarized, unsigned until your session.

How long does a session take?

Most sessions take between 10–20 minutes, depending on the number of documents and signers.

Can this be used for a document I need apostilled?

It depends on the state where the notarization takes place. Not all states currently allow apostilles for remotely notarized documents. Check our Apostille Services page or contact us before booking if this applies to you.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Sessions use identity verification, secure video recording, and encrypted document handling in accordance with applicable state requirements.

Remote online notarization is available regardless of your location. Apostille eligibility for remotely notarized documents depends on the notary's commissioning state. We'll confirm this with you before scheduling.
